Overview

Join Max Joule, an innovative deep-tech startup developing next-generation battery cells and energy storage systems for industries including defence, space, medical, and mining.

As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, improving, and scaling battery cell manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment. Working closely with the founders, you will contribute to process development from R&D and pilot production through validation and scale-up, while helping build the future of European battery technology.

Your responsibilities

  • Improve battery cell manufacturing processes through upgrades to processes, fixtures, tools, and production equipment.

  • Own and continuously develop manufacturing processes from mixing through cell assembly and testing.

  • Define process and product quality criteria and ensure appropriate follow-up and compliance.

  • Analyze process and quality data, identify gaps and root causes, and implement systematic continuous improvement actions.

  • Support internal teams and customers with quality assurance and quality-related technical topics.

  • Act as the key technical person for the introduction of new manufacturing processes, equipment, and production expansion.

  • Provide manufacturing and process-related input to the product team to support design for manufacturability and scale-up.

  • Train technicians on manufacturing processes, equipment operation, quality requirements, and standard work.

  • Support equipment procurement and implementation projects, including coordination of FAT/SAT activities.

  • Support facility layout development, production flow optimization, and utilities planning.

During your first months, your main focus will be improving the assembly and electrolyte injection processes and related quality performance.
