Overview
Max Joule is looking for a chemist to support the development and manufacturing of advanced battery cells.
The role involves practical laboratory work across electrochemistry, material preparation, cell assembly, testing and analysis.
You will work with a multidisciplinary team developing customised battery technologies for demanding applications.
Your responsibilities
Prepare and handle materials used in battery cell development
Support electrode preparation and battery cell assembly
Perform electrochemical testing and collect experimental data
Document laboratory procedures, test results and observations
Analyse cell performance and help identify opportunities for improvement
Maintain laboratory equipment and support safe working practices
Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing specialists
Support the transition from laboratory development towards repeatable production
What we’re looking for
Degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or a related field
Understanding of electrochemistry and battery cell principles
Practical laboratory experience
Careful and methodical approach to experimental work
Ability to document and communicate technical results clearly
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team
Professional working proficiency in English
The following would be beneficial but is not required:
Experience with lithium-based battery chemistries
Experience with electrode preparation or cell assembly
Familiarity with electrochemical testing equipment
Experience working in a research, pilot-production or manufacturing environment
